Mir-10A 28mm f/3.5 KMZ – one of few wide angle m42 Soviet lenses
MADE IN USSR!
One of not so many wide angle choices among FSU lenses, originally produced for Zenit SLR, can also be used on Fujica, Pentax, Practica.
Great for photo & video on DSLR, can be used on pretty much any modern camera system – Nikon/Canon, mirrorless systems: Sony NEX, Olympus Pen, Panasonic G, Canon EOS M, Nikon 1, FujiFilm X-mount etc.
“A” series of lenses have replaceable tail end – m42 mount tail can be replaced with Nikon F tail, with focusing to infinity and resolution retained.
Features very close focus – only 20cm from sensor!
No clicks during changing apertures, goes smooth from f/3.5 to f/22 without steps/clicks – good for video.
Aperture forms STAR opening at around f/11 – great for rendering stars in the background on highlights!
The lens s/n 842949 is in very good condition.
Lens barrel has signs of normal use.
Glass is very good: no fungus, no haze.
Has some micro scratches / micro abrasions on front glass / few dust particles, but nothing to affect image quality.
Mechanics are very good – focus is smooth throughout the range except for the last 2 cm on the distance scale(.20m-.22m),
No oil on aperture blades.
Few conclusions from online reviews:
“It is not as sharp as CZJ Flektogon, but the unique bokeh and portrait-softening attributes make it a good addition”.
“The image is of low contrast, the lens has characteristic flare.”
