Rare & collectable camera in very good condition.<\/p>\n

Prototype rangefinder camera, conceived by famous KMZ Chief Designer E.V. Solovjev and the young KMZ Designer A.S. Dorofeev in 1958. The camera itself has many unique features – the film cassette is loaded on the right side and the take-up spool is located on the left, the rewind knob is on the bottom, and the shutter release button is on the front of the camera, above the original design of self-timer lever. The Zorki-7 is very well made, the body is cast and rigid, the finish is much better than on other Soviet cameras of the same vintage. It’s interesting to mention, that Zorki-7 was initially planned to have a selenium lightmeter (as on Drug-2 camera, see information below). Fitted with prototype Mercury-1 2\/50mm or regular Jupiter-8 2\/50 mm lenses. An ultra rare to find nowadays! [sovietcams.com].<\/p>\n

The productional version of Zorki-7 camera, released by KMZ in 1959-1962. The black vulcanite coverings as well, as horizontal-line leatherette coverings on some early samples (like on prototype Zorki-7 camera). Signally changed construction of the self-timer. 2 synchro contacts moved to the rear plate. Many other visual changes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nOptics are clean and clear.
\nMechanics are great – focus is smooth and uniform.<\/p>\n

Shutter works on all speeds, aperture works full range.<\/p>\n

Lens Jupiter-8 50mm f\/2.0 s\/n 5943544 is in good condition.<\/p>\n

Some signs of use \/ age on barrel. Optics are clean: no fungus, no haze.<\/p>\n

Micro scratches are present as well as internal dust particles, but will not affect image quality.<\/p>\n

Mechanically is excellent: focusing is smooth and uniform.<\/p>\n
