TAIR-11Â is a premium portrait lens with outstanding image quality.
Tair-11 is consistently voted as one of the best Soviet portrait lenses, in line with Helios-40.
Twenty(20!) aperture blades are quite unique – the form circular opening on any aperture, which translates into beautiful bokeh.
This is early silver version with focal length of 13.3cm(133mm) and maximum aperture of 2.8. It is m39 Zenit Thread Mount lens, which comes with m39 to m42 step up ring, effectively becomes m42 screw mount lens.
Very good condition early TAIR-11 lens – s/n 000584 – the first thousand!
Lens barrel has some signs of use/age(see detailed photos).
NOTE: the brass m39 to m42 step up ring cannot be unscrewed from the lens – it appears to be stuck.
Glass is clean and clear, no fungus, no haze, no scratches!
Few light wipe marks / some internal dust particles are present, but nothing to affect the image quality.
Mechanics are excellent, focusing is smooth and uniform.
Aperture blades are free from oil.
