Big LOMO camera SOKOL-2 –Â with “High Quality”(CCCP) mark.
Not a common camera to find, has auto as well as fully manual mode. Allows inexperienced shooters to look up the settings the automatics choose and then either use them or set your own shutter/aperture.
It’s a rangefinder LOMO camera with large and clear viewfinder, that sports moving frame lines for parallax correction!
SOKOL-2 was very sophisticated camera, very expensive to produce – as a result not many survive till today, and even less of them work as they should.
What’s good:
– programmed auto mode
– exposure parameters are shown in view finder(!)
– fully manual mode available
– beautiful clear viewfinder
– has rangefinder
– CDS meter(not selenium)
– good quality leather case(turns into half case)
What’s not so good:
– size & weight
– rarity – it was too expensive to make so not many were produced
