KMZ flash synchronizer (синхронизатор КМЗ)
MADE IN USSR!
Fire a flash from a camera that has no flash contact of its own.
A small mechanical flash synchronizer made by KMZ, the Krasnogorsk Mechanical Works — the factory behind the Zorki and Zenit cameras. Its prism logo is engraved in red on the body and moulded into the lid of the canister.
It screws into a camera’s threaded cable-release socket. Press the knurled end and the pin trips the shutter, while the synchronizer closes the flash contact as the shutter opens. A red screw in the side window sets it for an electronic flash (lightning-bolt mark) or for a flash bulb (bulb mark).
