The «Блик» — the word means a glint of light in Russian — is a compact optical rangefinder made by LOMO, the Leningrad Optical-Mechanical Association. It slides into the accessory shoe of any camera, hot-shoe or cold-shoe alike, and it works just as well simply held in the hand.
Sight your subject through the eyepiece, turn the knurled wheel until the two images merge into one, then read the distance off the scale window and dial that same distance onto your lens. Focusing in two steps rather than one — but accurate, and it takes the guesswork out of shooting a Smena, a Lubitel or any other scale-focus camera at wider apertures.
